ESB Business School starts Centre for European Business Studies in Mumbai, India
For the last few years, India has been experiencing outstanding economic growth. Therefore, business relations between Europe and India, contacts between political representatives and knowledge transfer between Europe and India have become areas of great interest and potential.
With financial support from the EU, the ESB Business School has founded a “Centre for European Business Studies“ (CEBS) in Mumbai. It is located on the campus of S.P. Jain Institute for Management and Research which is one of the top 10 Business Schools in India. The centre is the first centre with the above-mentioned thematic focus funded by the EU and also the first study centre of its kind organized by a German university.
Founding director Prof. Dr. Dennis A. De of ESB Business School claims, “The centre aims at providing a link from academia to business, and the CEBS addresses students, universities and companies alike”. Customized Master’s-programmes will turn Indian students into experts on Europe and provide them with a recognized Master’s degree. In addition; advanced training courses will prepare employees of Indian and European companies for Indo-European trade. The centre’s e-learning concept makes it innovative and globally attractive. Lectures held in Reutlingen und Mumbai will be made accessible to interested Indian universities via internet.
The CEBS is open to work with additional universities and aims at providing a platform for joint programmes. In this context, the CEBS will also organize conferences focussing on current topics, e.g. the Indo-European free trade agreement.
