Culture and Charity

The culture and charity department supports the association for children suffering from cancer in Tübingen as well as Integramus e.V. in Reutlingen by organising various events.
Those events are numerous activities such as a stand and a raffle at the Reutlingen Christmas market, selling cakes, soirée cabaret and the relay.
The ESB has been connected to the association of children suffering from cancer in Tübingen through a sponsoring relationship for decades now.
The main aim of the association is to facilitate the life of children suffering from cancer as well as that of their parents. One focus of this work is the so-called "house for parents", where the parents of those children who are being treated in the hospital of Tübingen can live during the therapy of their children. Since Tübingen is one of only four hospitals in Europe where a therapy against cancer with non compatible stem cells is possible, the house is frequented very often. The old house was not big enough for all the parents, therefore construction of a new house for parents started in November 2009, which we want to support with our donations.
In contrast to the association for children with cancer, Integramus e.V. is a young association. The members working voluntarily are focussing on the integration of citizens with migrational background in Germany. Furthermore, they are supporting a kindergarten in Kenia. Our donations are used to maintain the accommodation of the children for as long as possible.
To secure that "culture" is being included in this society, the department is organizing different events such as going to the theater, musicals or museums.
