Top grades in university rankings
Reutlingen University achieves top grades in the most recent CHE ranking. The international business administration programmes at ESB Business School could score top grades in all five categories, i.e., reputation of professors, international orientation, practical orientation, feasibility, and the study situation as a whole. Only Münster University of Applied Sciences was able to achieve a similarly good result.
The internationally renowned CHE league table is the most comprehensive and detailed in the German-speaking countries. More than 300 universities and universities of applied sciences in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands were assessed by the CHE (Centre for Higher Education). Apart from facts concerning courses, teaching, equipment and research the ranking comprises more than 250.000 students’ assessments of the study conditions at their university.
The results of the new ranking will be published in the ZEIT-study guide 2011/2012. Every year, one third of all subjects are re-evaluated: This year law, business and social sciences were assessed, as well as media and communication studies and social work.
As every spring, ESB Business School has been awaiting the results of the university ranking published by leading German business magazine “WirtschaftsWoche”. Not only students are interested in knowing which universities are considered the best by the Human Resources managers of the biggest German companies. Also the universities consider the ranking, which has been published on 18th April 2011 one of the most important national league tables.
In the survey conducted by access KellyOCG and Universum Communications on behalf of Wirtschaftswoche, more than 500 personnel managers had been asked to name the universities and universities of applied sciences which, in their opinion, have the best graduates. In the field of business administration at universities of applied sciences, the ESB Business School was rated No. 1 by 23,9 %, leaving behind Cologne (11 %) and Munich (9.5). ESB Business School has been able to hold this position constantly since 2004.
Dean Prof. Dr. Ottmar Schneck is pleased with the good result: “We are very proud to have once again reached first rank in this important league table. It is a great achievement, given the increasingly competitive field of education with its many political, regulatory and demographic challenges. It serves as proof for our experienced professors that, with their excellent teaching and research, they provide students and graduates with an education which is highly attractive for futures employers. It remains our goal to be the most international business school in Germany and to increase the degree of our popularity in Europe”.
More good news: Also the School of Informatics of Reutlingen University was able to score a good result, reaching 4th place among the universities of applied sciences in the field of business informatics.
