New partner university in Vietnam

In October 2010, Prof. Dr. Hazel Grünewald and Prof. Dr. Joachim Gschwinder had visited 6 universities in Ho-Chi-Minh-City (Saigon) and the Mekong delta in order to find out about their suitability as potential partners. Some universities seemed to have good potential and several meetings with DAAD representatives and ESB alumni in Vietnam confirmed this positive impression.

The first agreement was signed in February 2011 by the presidents of International University (IU) Ho-Chi-Minh-City and Reutlingen University. With the International University Reutlingen was able to gain a first class university as a partner. The university was founded in 2002 and is very innovative and has a clear international orientation. Approximately 3000 students are enrolled at 9 schools or departments, 1500 of them at the business school. All instruction is in English and all professors and lecturers have taught in Englisch-speaking countries.

For the ESB two departments are of special interest for future cooperation: the School of Business Administration and the Industrial System Engineering Department.
