Course of studies

The degree programme lasts six semesters. It contains an internship at an international company as well as semester at a foreign partner university. During the last semester, the students will write a bachelor thesis in cooperation with a firm. On completing the programme the graduates receive180 credit points.

Intention:

The degree programme Außenwirtschaft (International Business, AW) educates the students to become outstanding qualified specialists and executive staff in export and international marketing with focus on (regional) medium-sized economy.

Contents of studies:

The programme is divided into three focuses:

 

  1. "Classical Business Administration"

    General business administration, management, corporate management, marketing, accounting, controlling, finance, economics, law, taxes, human resources management, business informatics and qualitative methods


  2. "International orientation and Practical experience"

    Export management, foreign trade financing, international commerce, foreign languages, guest lectures and workshops by company representatives, excursions to firms


  3. "Key qualifications"

    Method and social competence, personality development, methodical feedback, ability to communicate and work in a team.
     

Languages:

You will study two foreign languages (English and French or Spanish). The 3rd semester will be held in English.

3rd semester Consolidation (semester completely taught in English)

5th semester Study semester abroad
6th semester Final semester with integrated bachelor's thesis

The degree programme attaches great importance to active students and actively promotes the manifold student activities. The focus here is not only on student responsibility through the student committee, sporting events and parties but also through an especially strong dedication to different charity projects. By working in international teams the students experience social competence, intercultural competence and team spirit. During their semester abroad at one of more than 30 partner universities and the international internship the students can apply their soft skills and thus they improve their chances on the job market even more.
