BSc International Management | - Double Degree (IMD)
These bi-national, fully-integrated business programmes, leading to a double-degree, have been offered for 30 years, and are an excellent starting point for a career in companies with international operations.
As well as teaching economic and intercultural subjects based on theory, great emphasis is placed upon practical business issues. Two semesters are spent on work experience placements, which are fully integrated into the study programme and provide an early understanding of the challenges of the real world of business. The programme takes a total of four years, of which two are spent in Reutlingen and two at one of our leading partner universities in England, France, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, or the USA.
The strong cooperation between the members of the International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS) is unique. With a current total of more than 2,000 students, IPBS is the largest integrated university cooperation programme in Europe. An important factor in its success is the close multilateral cooperation between the members.
The study abroad semesters are fully integrated into the programme, in which students earn the bachelor’s degree of each of the two participating universities. With a total of 240 credit points, this programme provides the prerequisite for all significant masters’ programmes in the world.
English is obligatory for all students, who must also study the language of the country of their partner university. It may also be possible to take a further language.
Personal development and intercultural competence are important aims of this programme, which is also designed to encourage students to develop an active sense of social responsibility.
The International Management Programme is accredited by the German FIBAA agency.
The following 9 programmes are available:

After successfully completing the four-year bachelor degree programme, there is the option in all IMD double-degree programmes of earning the Master of Science (MSc) in International Management (IPBS). This MSc programme of study can be completed in one year at two of the partner Universities in IPBS (International Partnership of Business Schools). Further information is available at: http://www.esb-reutlingen.de/programme/master/msc-international-management-ipbs.html.
The combination of these study programmes conforms to the regulations of the Bologna Accords, which allow for a three-year bachelor programme to be followed by a two-year master programme (3+2) or a four-year bachelor programme to be followed by a one-year master programme.
With 240 ECTS Credits, the four-year bachelor programme also fulfils the formal requirements (perhaps with further work experience) for entry into most master degree programmes in the world.
The seven International Management bachelor degree programmes which were being taught at that time were accredited by the FIBAA accreditation agency on 25th April 2008.
