Application Procedure

We protect our high quality standards by means of a multi-phase selection process of our future students. Not only do we consider our applicants' successful academic achievements in our decision, we also examine equally important characteristics of our candidates; namely, personal engagement, enthusiasm and flexibility. We are looking for candidates who show potential, who already possess a stable inner self who is ready to meet the challenges of 2 years' living and studying abroad. We are looking for eager young students who can handle the stress which ESB Business School’s intense courses, busy student life, internships, studying abroad, and moving from one country to another will bring.
Once a year, ESB Business School offers its Entrance Exams. At this time, at least 3 times more applicants will be invited to take part in these exams as we actually have placements for. Our decision on who will be invited is based on the applicant's final grades and other remarkable achievements.
Examples of achievements are apprenticeships, special leadership awards for sport, culture, church, club organisations etc. This means, you still have a chance to join ESB Business School even if you have not achieved the most exceptional grades.
Applicants must fulfil the admission requirements at ESB Business School as well as those at the respective partner university, namely:
- General qualification requirements for university entrance must be met (As a general rule, the “Abitur” is adequate for entrance into ESB Business School).
- Successful completion of an entrance exam. This consists of a general written test, a personal interview with a faculty member and a manager from a respected company, and an oral exam in the language in which you will complete the other part of your studies.
Applications
We have developed a selection process in which both the achievement potential and personality of our future students are taken into account. This is our way of making sure that studying will take place in an optimal learning atmosphere.
Our theory has proven itself: Our drop-out rate for new students at ESB Business School remains under 5%, whereas the average drop-out rate in Germany lies at 23%.
