Procedure of application

 The application process is split up into 2 phases:  

(1) A written application, addressed to the ESB Business School, on which the decision of invitation for an interview will be based on, and 

(2) An interview that is held personally at the faculty.  

The decision on the allocation of available places is made by a certain allocation process and is based on the following criteria:

  • Grade of university degree
  • Study-oriented work experience
  • Stays abroad
  • Knowledge of foreign languages
 Deadlines for the application forms:
  • "Antrag auf Zulassung": 15 January
  • "Antrag auf Teilnahme am Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren": 15 January

The documents have to arrive at the university by the dates stipulated at the latest.

Please send both completed application forms and all documents indicated in the form!

Documents that are not available until the deadlines of the Zulassungsamt.  

Dates for the interviews:

Approx. 5 - 10 days after expiration of the application deadline. 

Please note that the invitation for an interview will be sent out on short notice to the dates by mail or will be made by phone.   

Requirements for entrance:
  • A domestic or foreign academic study (degree, for example "Diplom" or "Bachelor") of business management or a comparable study with at least the overall average grade “B”.
  • Good knowledge of German. This knowledge has to be documented by the successful allocation of the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH)” or equivalent courses. Excepted are students speaking German as mother tongue or foreign students having already graduated in Germany. The certificate has to be handed in by the beginning of the 1st semester at the latest.
  • Good knowledge in English. This knowledge has to be documented by the successful allocation of the TOEFL (at least 83 points internet-based) or equivalent courses (European frame level B2). Excepted are students speaking English or students having already graduated in an anglophone country. The certificate has to be handed in by the beginning of the 1st semester at the latest.

The required application documents: 

 Package A for the "Zulassungsamt":

You have to hand in: 

* Admitted applicants must hand in the certified copies of the original certificates together with the registration documents

 

Package B for the Faculty ESB:

You have to hand in:

  • form " Fragebogen zum Auswahlverfahren "
  • a chronologic CV, which has to be signed
  • copies of your university entrance qualification (Hochschulreifezeugnis) as well as other documents proving your school and work history or other skills. These copies do not have to be proved by an official body.

Please note:

  • All documents have to be handed in in German

  • In order to process your application, all forms and documents have to be completed entirely.

  • Both packages have to me marked explicitly (Package A "admission office", Package B "ESB Business School/MA IBD, Geb. 17") and have to be sent in one envelope to:
