Target Group/Admission Requirements

Admission requirements for the MBA programme in International Management are a first degree from a recognised university, a good knowledge of German and English, and successful performance in an assessment interview and English test.

Graduates in all disciplines can be admitted if they have at least two years professional experience. Graduates in engineering, natural sciences, or the humanities will achieve through our programme a graduate qualification which will enhance their career opportunities.

Please note that the programme is not designed for those who have already completed undergraduate studies in business, who will only be admitted under exceptional circumstances.

We expect from applicants:

  • a clear perspective for their own educational development
  • a high degree of motivation
  • two-years’ relevant work experience, preferably of a technical or commercial natureinternational experience and orientation
  • good knowledge of German and English.

Applicants from outside Germany can be accepted if their degree is recognised in Germany and they can present evidence of a good command of German. This can be in the form of an "Abitur" from a German high school (also outside Germany), by the "deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (DSH)", TestDAF, or by the "Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung" of the Goethe Institut (formerly "Sprachdiplom "Stufe II").

Additional requirement for applicants from China/Mongolia/Vietnam
Applications from China, Mongolia and Vietnam require original certification of the “Akademische Prüfstelle (APS)”.
Chinese applications require the APS of the German Embassy in Beijing. This does not apply for applicants who have already been admitted to a specific course of study at a German university. Applicants taking part in German courses in Germany do not need to return to China, but must obtain the APS from the German Embassy in Beijing.
