Curriculum

The International Business programme takes between seven and nine semesters. The duration depends on the path you choose in the course of your studies (some paths will be available for a defined number of students only).

You will spend the first three semesters at Reutlingen University. In the 4th and 7th semesters an internship in a company has to be completed. This offers students the opportunity to apply their theoretical business management knowledge in a real-life business environment and further develop their soft skills as well as to extend their comprehension of business issues and management tasks.

The IB degree programme provides a broad spectrum of expertise and methods in business studies and enables students to select a major subject in the 5th semester and whilst at partner universities - e.g. Marketing & Strategy, Finance & Accounting, HRM & Organization.

All elements of the programme have a strong international orientation. A strong emphasis is placed on soft skills, for example communication and presentation skills, intercultural competence and business ethics.

During your studies you can choose one of three study paths to complete the programme (see programme structure). Study path 1 means you acquire the Bachelor of Science after seven semesters from Reutlingen University. Study path 2 gives you the possibility to earn an additional bachelor's degree from a partner institution. Study path 3 means you acquire an additional master’s degree from a partner institution. (Path 2 and 3 are available for a defined number of students only.)
