Digital Hub Workshop: Digital Product and Factory Engineering on a Business Platform Using the Example of 3DEXPERIENCE® Business Platform by Dassault Systèmes

  • Do you know what is behind the digital product and factory engineering and a business platform?
  • Do you know how you can use a business platform to digitally implement your value chain along the product to process and factory planning?
  • Can you imagine the potential of digital and factory engineering and which products and processes are suitable for digital imaging?

During the webinar (introductory talk), we will show you how you can use a business platform to implement the digital value chain in a networked enterprise along the product life cycle from the product idea to process and factory planning.

At the beginning of the presentation, a CAD model and the corresponding design bill of material (EBOM) will be presented using a product (city scooter) as an example. Then the product’s variants are considered and how the manufacturing bill of material (MBOM) can be derived from the engineering bill of material (EBOM). Next you will be shown how digital process planning (work system, time analysis, line balancing) can be designed using the business platform and continuously improved, based on changing customer requirements. In a further step, digital factory planning (mapping of layouts and planning of resources) is considered. You will experience continuous data and information consistency as well as provision and thus consistency up to possible digital shop floor management.

The presentation will end with a short demonstration of a digital value chain on the 3DEXPERIENCE® Business Platform and its actual implementation in the factory as well as the opportunity for an online exchange of ideas.

Aims of the presentation

  • To get to know digital product and factory engineering using a business platform
  • To demonstrate the potential scenarios which are suitable for digital product and factory engineering
  • To present possible application areas in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
