Double Ranking Success

ESB in the 2018 Trendence Absolventenbarometer and the 2018 Universum Talent Research

By: Verena Werdich

ESB Business School at Reutlingen University achieves excellent results in two current rankings. In the 2018 Trendence Absolventenbarometer 2018 and the 2018 Universum Talent Research students rated their university. The national results are now available.

ESB Business School has reason to be pleased about very good results in both rankings. The School is above the national average in almost all rating categories. ESB achieved absolute top ratings in the Trendence for the categories “Internationality of Studies”, “Practical Relevance of Studies” and “Career Opportunities/Career Service”.

The latter also plays a major role in Universum: Both business administration students and aspiring business engineers give ESB top ratings for the categories Career Service – 98 percent of respondents have already used one of the offers of the Career Center – as well as for Practical Relevance.

The students gain practical experience primarily during the mandatory internships, which in all degree programmes consist of at least one semester. The proportion of students with significant practical experience during their studies at ESB Business School is with 46 percent for the business administrators and 40 percent for the business engineers more than twice as high as the average. Practical Experience in the Universum Ranking shows another of ESB’s major strengths: 42 percent of the business administration students surveyed and 29 percent of business engineering students surveyed complete an internship abroad.

Internationality is also a crucial factor for Trendence when the students describe ESB: They value their “international fellow students“, the “international focus“, the “opportunities to study abroad“ and the “basis for starting an international career“. 55 percent of the respondents want to work in an international company immediately after graduation.

Particularly positive for ESB Business School: Overall, according to Universum, its students are more satisfied than the national average. 84 percent of the business administrators and 74 percent of the business engineers would choose to study again at ESB.

Dean, Professor Dr Andreas Taschner, is delighted at the good results: “The two rankings show once again the high quality we can attain through the dedication of our professors, external lecturers and staff as well as through the commitment of our alumni, partner universities and corporate partners. For us this is confirmation of our work and an incentive to continue to pursue and live ESB’s mission and values.“
