On 16 October Professor Dr Christoph Binder assumed the position of Dean at ESB Business School at Reutlingen University. He replaces his predecessor Professor Dr Andreas Taschner after a three-year term of office.

The new dean, Professor Dr Christoph Binder, has a special link to ESB Business School. In 1996 he began his studies in Reutlingen in the International Management (IPBS) programme and graduated with the German-French double degree in 2000. He was then awarded a doctorate during his time as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company Inc. in Munich at EBS Business School in Oestrich-Winkel in the area of management accounting & control. He subsequently taught as a guest lecturer at diverse institutions while working as a consultant and in 2008 he finally returned to ESB Business School in Reutlingen as professor for general business administration, in particular accounting and financial controlling. “The special thing about ESB is the exceptionally strong network of students, teachers and corporate partners. This must be preserved together with the guarantee that the students will continue to receive an exciting and sustainable education”, says Professor Binder, describing his vision for the future. "The recent AACSB accreditation will further strengthen the school's leading international position."

AACSB accreditation was one of the outstanding successes during Professor Dr Andreas Taschner’s term of office, who guided the fortunes of the School for the past three years. Only five percent of all business schools in the world have been awarded the seal of quality of this international accreditation organisation. “For us this was a major milestone which required very many helping hands and minds”, is Professor Taschner’s view of the accreditation: “ESB’s great projects and successes are based on teamwork.” He wishes his successor Professor Binder an exciting and varied term of office. Over the coming weeks the latter will assemble his Management Team, which will then have to be approved by the University Council.
