Von Katrin Reil

Purdue University in West Lafayette (Indiana) is one of the leading universities in the USA, with 13 Nobel Prize winners and 25 astronauts. For MSc Digital Industrial Management and Engineering  (DIME), Purdue is one thing in particular: a new double degree partner.

With immediate effect, the Research Master at ESB Business School is cooperating with the Polytechnic Institute at Purdue University. For the winter semester 2020/21, prospective students can apply for the double degree programme at both universities. They spend two semesters at ESB Business School. Reutlingen University, and one semester at Purdue University, after which they write their master’s thesis

“We are delighted to have gained such a distinguished partner. Purdue University, like us, offers students a state-of-the-art, smart factory environment for research and teaching. Here, solutions in the fields of Industry 4.0, machine learning, digitisation of production and logistics or human-robot collaboration can be developed and applied. Our graduates are thus perfectly prepared for demanding tasks in research and development“, says Professor Dr Daniel Palm, Dean of Studies of the MSc Digital Industrial Management and Engineering programme.

From the very beginning, students work independently on current research topics in intensive exchange with a supervising professor and  a research group. At the same time, they acquire in-depth theoretical knowledge in lectures taking place in an industrial production environment. The second double degree partner of  MSc Digital Industrial Management and Engineering is Stellenbosch University in South Africa.

More information about the MSc Digital Industrial Management and Engineering programme can be found in the degree programme video (in German).
