Stars in Sindelfingen, chocolate in Waldenbuch

Orientation Week for the MSc International Management

By Julie Dengler

After a successful Study Block I, which took place in the winter semester 2019/20 at DCU in Dublin, Ireland or UDLAP in Puebla, Mexico, our MSc International Management (MIM) students arrived in Reutlingen at the beginning of February for Study Block II.

Their Orientation Week was packed with information about their studies in Reutlingen and events such as a guided historical tour through the city of Reutlingen, bowling, dinner in our neighboring town of Tübingen and some very interesting company visits.

These included a tour of Daimler’s manufacturing plant in Sindelfingen which wrapped up with a presentation given by ESB alumnus Igor Maier (Daimler Truck Division) on the internships, master thesis projects and employment opportunities offered by Daimler.

The next visit was to the world-renowned chocolate producer, Ritter Sport, where two ESB alumni, Colin Dinkelacker (Head of Innovation Management) and Lena Schenk (Innovation Process Manager), presented the company and its job opportunities. The group was also introduced to how Ritter Sport uses Design Thinking in the area of new product development and heard about some of the exciting results that have come from their experiences with this concept.

The week closed with a visit by ESB alumnus Sophia Bohn (1st Manager Brand Development at Hugo Boss) who presented her department and the exciting career offered by Hugo Boss. A trip to Bosch Power Tools is planned for later in the semester.

We wish our students a successful and unforgettable experience during their studies with us in Reutlingen.
