During the 2020 Schmalenbach Conference, five ESB students, Jing Wang, Lena Schuhmacher, Julia Gries, Tim Geyer and Steffen Honigmann, were admitted to the circle of scholarship holders of the Schmalenbach Foundation. The aim of the Foundation is to provide conceptual and financial support for professionally qualified and socially committed students in a Master’s programme with a business orientation. With the support of the Carl Lueg Foundation, the Schmalenbach Foundation provides the ‘Schmalenbach Scholarships’ every year.

The students are enrolled in the following programmes: Jing Wang: MSc International Accounting, Controlling and Taxation, Lena Schuhmacher and Tim Geyer: MSc International Business Development, Julia Gries and Steffen Honigmann: MSc Operations Management. They had the opportunity to network with other scholarship holders at the event at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Cologne at the beginning of March 2020, as well as to follow current developments in stakeholder management in corporate governance, consulting and auditing in a variety of panel discussions.

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to exchange ideas with Professor Dr rer. pol. Stefan Asenkerschbaumer, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management at Robert Bosch GmbH.
