ESB Business School at Reutlingen University has reviewed and revised its range of study programmes. From the winter semester 2020/21, the Bachelor of Science “Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen – Operations” as well as the Master of Science “Global Management and Digital Competencies” will train internationally oriented managers of tomorrow. Applications for the master programme can be submitted immediately, for the bachelor programme from mid-May.

The bachelor degree programme “Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen – Operations“ (International Business and Engineering - Operations) is aimed at applicants who wish to acquire a broad basic knowledge in business administration and engineering. The focus lies on the planning, control and optimisation of production processes. As with all degree programmes at ESB Business School, “Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen – Operations“ also has a strong international and practical orientation. In Werk 150, the factory test field at ESB Business School, the students gain their first experience, which they apply and enhance during the mandatory internship semester. They become familiar with international business and engineering concepts not only at ESB Business School but also during their semester abroad at one of the programme’s 60 partner universities. “After seven semesters, when our students have completed their degree, they are ideally prepared for tasks at the interface between business and technology, both in internationally operating medium-sized companies and in large corporations“, says Professor Dr Dirk Schieborn, future programme director of the Bachelor of Science ”Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen - Operations“ programme.

The very name of the Master of Science “Global Management and Digital Competencies“ programme, is a statement of its international orientation. The course, held completely in English, prepares students for a career in the management of companies in the global marketplace at a time of digital transformation. “Anyone wishing to act in an international context needs sound knowledge of the global economic area, digital competencies, good leadership qualities and the right tools to tackle the organisational and technological challenges of the 21st century”, explains Professor Dr Niamh O’Mahony, programme director of the MSc "Global Management and Digital Competencies" programme. The students spend the first semester of the new programme at one of ESB Business School’s prestigious partner universities in France, Ireland, Italy or Canada. They then come and study on the Reutlingen campus where they deal with topics such as leadership in the digital age, international finance and risk management and digital transformation. Depending on the country link they have chosen, the students in the “Global Management and Digital Competencies” programme also have the opportunity to obtain a double degree – the Master of Science in Reutlingen and the degree awarded by the international partner university.
