Around 130 students from all over the world - first and fifth semester students - were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Anna-Lena Kotzur, Dean of Studies BSc. International Management (IMX), Prof. Dr. Jörg Naeve and the programme coordinators Petra Greiner, Julie Dengler, Jia Gu and their IMX team.

"You are not alone," Prof. Dr. Kotzur told the students from the 11 partner universities during the welcome on Wednesday, "our team will be happy to help you with any questions you have."  For the first-semester students, this marked the beginning of their study experience.
Some of the fifth-semester students had already taken part in the "Business German" intensive course for international IMX and IB students at the beginning of September. The course is run by the Institute for Foreign Languages at RIO and ESB Business School. In addition to six hours of German lessons per day, the programme for the 69 participants also included additional activities such as a campus and city tour in Reutlingen, and getting together for pizza and bowling. Further highlights for the students from the 11 partner institutions were excursions to Lake Constance and a punting trip on the Neckar in Tübingen. This gave them the opportunity to get to know the university, their fellow students and the surrounding area - and to get off to a good start in their new study location, Reutlingen.

In addition to talks about mentoring, general information about studying and the presentation of the language concept by Prof. Dr. O'Mahony, there was a lot of information about the IMX student initiative StuBue. In addition to many other activities (e. g. supporting the company forum), the initiative also organises parties and events and represents the internal and external interests of the students. Marie Neu, Hannah Höss, Maximilian Luther and Alejandro Born de Andrés gave a clear recommendation to the new students: "Get involved in the ESB Student Network and join the Alumni Association today.

Another highlight awaited the new arrivals on Thursday - a reception in Reutlingen's town hall by Roland Wintzen, the city official responsible for finance and business.

We wish the students a successful start to the winter semester and a great time in Reutlingen!
