In the latest university ranking published in the business magazine Wirtschaftswoche, Reutlingen University does exceptionally well: ESB Business School holds its first place in business administration among the German universities of applied sciences. Business engineering in ESB takes fifth place. Business informatics in the School of Informatics also performs outstandingly well again with second place.

For the latest university ranking organised by Wirtschaftswoche, the recruitment agency Universum Global surveyed 650 HR managers from companies with headcounts ranging from ten to thousands of employees. The university ranking is subdivided into business administration, economics, business engineering, business informatics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, informatics, law and natural sciences. It distinguishes between universities and universities of applied sciences. The HR managers were asked to state from which universities and their different departments they most prefer to recruit employees.

“Studying at Reutlingen University creates excellent career prospects for our graduates and the employers‘ rating in the latest WiWo ranking makes us feel more than justified in sticking to our practical teaching approach”, says Professor Harald Dallmann, vice-president of teaching and studying at Reutlingen University.

For business administration, 21.7 percent of the respondents named ESB Business School at Reutlingen University. Thus, ESB clearly holds its first place among the German universities of applied sciences – more than 8 percent ahead of the second-placed university – and was able to improve its survey results again by more than one percent compared with the previous year. The business engineers from ESB Business School also enjoy an excellent reputation among HR managers, holding a very good fifth place as in the previous year.

Business informatics at Reutlingen University once more performs exceptionally well, reaching with 14.6 percent an even better second place among the German universities of applied sciences than in the previous year (2018: 13.8 percent).
