For the seventh time in a row the international block seminar of the study programme BSc International Business was held at ESB Business School. From the 24th till the 28th of October our guest lecturers Prof. Joe Daly from Waterford Institute of Technology in Ireland, Prof. Nico Koomen from HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and Prof. Dana Cosby from Western Kentucky University in the USA gave seminars in the “Majors” for students in their 5th semester of the BSc International Business-programme. While Prof. Daly and Prof. Koomen hold seminars at ESB Business School on a regular basis, Prof. Dana Cosby was our guest for the first time. In addition to the international experience the bachelor students gain during their study or internship abroad, the block seminar week is an excellent opportunity to bring internationalisation on campus.

Whilst Prof. Daly gave the students new input through lectures and interactive case studies in the field of “Business Marketing and Professional Selling”, Prof. Koomen had them play an “Investment Game” and lectured about up-to-date topics in the area of “Portfolio Management”. Prof Cosby expanded the students’ knowledge in the subject of “Sustainability and Human Resources Development”.

The block seminar week is a highlight of the semester. In addition to the intensive lectures, the guest lecturers are offered a programme in order to get to know the region and the Swabian cuisine. The next block seminar week will take place in April 2017.
