The 2024 ESB Cycling for Charity Tour is on!

[Translate to English:]

18 students from the BSc International Management Double Degree programme are currently on their way to raise funds on the ESB Cycling for Charity bike tour. Ahead of them is a ride of 870 kilometres with 7,500 metres of ascent.

Where are they going?

This year, the tour heads to Volonne in the south of France. That is where the universities in the International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS) will be meeting for the International Business Weekend, a sort of international class reunion. The cyclists from the ESB Cycling for Charity bike tour traditionally receive a massive welcome from them at the end of the ride.

What are they cycling for?

The students have been raising funds for a while now and will continue to do so throughout the tour with a range of activities on behalf of two charities which they have been supporting for many years:

In a short film the Relay Team explains what your donations can achieve.

How did they prepare?

The students take charge of the entire organisation of the ESB Cycling for Charity tour, from planning the route and tour logistics to booking accommodation and catering. Athletic preparations involve intensive spinning sessions. There were also two training tours around the region.

How did the farewell go?

At the farewell event for the team held on 10 April at the Reutlingen campus, the donation partners expressed their good wishes to the students. Additionally, Professor Dr. Markus Conrads, who is a lawyer and Dean of ESB, gave the cyclists a humorous briefing on the tour and the most crucial cycling rules of the German road traffic regulations. The Chairman of Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e.V., Anton Hoffmann, joined the team for the first few kilometers. Luba Maier from Integramus e.V. also wished the students great weather, strong legs, and unforgettable experiences for the forthcoming days.
