The practice-oriented MBA study programme provides officers and civilian professionals with business skills at the highest level and will prepare you specifically and comprehensively for a further career in industry.

  • Flexible: The study programme in cooperation with the Knowledge Foundation @ Reutlingen University (KFRU) and the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich can be adapted in terms of time to the requirements and vagaries of military service or another professional activity.

The academic degree is awarded as a joint degree from ESB Business School, Reutlingen University, and the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich.

Costs

19.750 Euro

Reduction of 20% for members of the Federal Armed Forces (15,800.-).

Funding by the Vocational Support Service of the Federal Armed Forces (BFD).

Admission requirements

  • Successfully completed university degree with professional qualification, all fields of study
  • At least two years of professional experience (active service or professional activity) 
  • Evidence of English language skills (at least B2 according to GER or SLP 3332)
  • Certificate recognition of non-German degree
  • Successful participation in the selection process
  • Successfully completed entrance examination in the form of a selection interview

The part-time study programme will provide you as military or civilian professionals with business skills at the highest level and prepare you specifically and comprehensively for a future career in business.

 

Structure and Content

International Management for Officers and Professions addresses the following questions, among others: 

  • How do I manage a company successfully? 
  • What tasks await a manager in general management and a functional area such as marketing, HR or logistics? 
  • How can I capitalise on my service experience as an officer in the civilian economy? 
  • How can I use my previous experience as a professional to get started as a manager?
  • How do I develop international strategies? 
  • How do I manage international business processes? 
  • How do I work efficiently in an intercultural environment?

Your study programme at a glance

The study programme, which lasts 2 years and 5 months, is completed in several phases:

The first 18 months of part-time study are followed by 6 months of intensive compact study weeks on site, including 1.5 months for self-study and holidays. In the following 5 months you will complete your Master's thesis, which can be combined with a company internship or a study abroad.

Depending on your individual situation, the first part of the degree programme can also be completed within 9 months in fast-track instead of 18 months.

 

Content focus

The programme focuses on topics such as financing and cost management, marketing, strategy and organisation, human resources management, business law and economics. A special focus is placed on currently relevant topics such as digitisation.

Stay abroad

A study or internship period abroad is optional:

During the distance learning phase, you can attend summer schools or one to four-week courses at selected partner universities. After the six-month attendance phase, you can attend summer schools as well as spend entire "terms" (semesters) at selected partner universities abroad.

The MBA International Management for Officers and Professionals programme is offered in cooperation with the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich and the Knowledge Foundation @ Reutlingen University (KFRU)

The KFRU is the higher education foundation at Reutlingen University.

The lectures are organised by the KFRU and the casc Institute of the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich and held by the professors at ESB Business School, the School of Business and Organisational Sciences of the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich as well as external experts.

The programme includes a state-approved degree (joint degree) and is fully subject to the quality standards of ESB Business School (in particular, for example, in accreditations).
