„Good Leadership“

In the winter semester of 2025, the ESB Business School at Reutlingen University will be bringing the Karl Schlecht Foundation (KSG) Leadership Talent Academy (LTA) to its Reutlingen campus. The scholarship programme aims to develop young people into responsible leaders who embody ethical and humanistic values, as well as professional competence.
It specifically supports students on MBA programmes and part-time programmes at the Knowledge Foundation, as well as young alumni of the ESB Business School. Their professional experience enables them to apply what they learn directly in practice.
‘The Leadership Talent Academy is an additional offering that prepares our students for responsible leadership roles and enables them to grow beyond their technical expertise,’ emphasises Professor Dr Markus Conrads, Dean of the ESB Business School. ‘We are delighted to bring this programme to Reutlingen in collaboration with the Karl Schlecht Foundation.’
The Karl Schlecht Foundation already has LTA partnerships with the University of Tübingen, UnternehmerTUM, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and Campus Founders in Heilbronn. While other locations focus on entrepreneurship or start-ups, ESB Business School emphasises strengthening the region and medium-sized companies.
One example is the module ‘Management of Family Businesses’, which introduces students to succession planning and the management of medium-sized companies. This is complemented by the module 'Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence', which explores the opportunities and challenges of new technologies in management processes. To this end, ESB Business School cooperates with experts from the Cyber Valley Community, Europe's leading centre of excellence in artificial intelligence and modern robotics.
The programme is practical and systematically structured. The three introductory modules on self-management, team leadership and corporate management provide a solid foundation. These are followed by seminars, workshops, simulations and individual coaching to promote the participants' holistic personal development.
The Leadership Talent Academy is a scholarship programme run by the Karl Schlecht Foundation to encourage excellence in leadership. It is aimed at young managers, entrepreneurs, scientists and talented students, particularly those studying STEM subjects and economics. The programme aims to develop responsible leaders who, in addition to their professional qualifications, possess ethical and humanistic skills.
