„ESB Cycling for Charity"

17 students - 800 kilometres - 26,000 €: At the 22nd edition of ESB Business School's charity bike tour, dedicated participants collected donations for two charitable organisations in the region. This year's tour took the team from the Reutlingen University campus to Hamburg - eight days full of sporting achievement, solidarity and helpfulness.
Handing over donations with moving words
The successful conclusion of the tour was the handover of donations on 7 June 2025 on the campus of Reutlingen University. The participants proudly presented donations totalling 26,000 euros to two long-standing partner projects: the Integramus e. V. association and the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e. V. association.
Luba Maier, founder of Integramus e. V., was visibly moved:
"We are not even a handful of people at Integramus and so this donation is invaluable. Without it, we would have to stop projects such as our childcare in Kenya or building wells in Africa."
Anton Hofmann from the Association for the Support of Children with Cancer in Tübingen also thanked the students:
"We can only help if we are supported ... donations like this mean so, so much to us. Be it music therapy, art therapy or mentoring programmes. You give children and their families courage, help and hope."
Commitment for over 20 years
‘ESB Cycling for Charity’ is a firm favourite among students at ESB Business School. Since 2004, students have independently organised the annual cycle tour lasting several days with the aim of collecting donations for social projects through personal achievement.
Since the organisation was founded, the cycling team has collected a total of more than 500,000 euros in donations.
In recent years, the charity tours have taken the cycling team to a variety of destinations. In 2024 they went on the Volonne Tour, in 2023 to Alicante and in 2022 to Lake Garda. Each tour is organised by the students themselves - from planning the route and finding sponsors through to the media-effective implementation. Not only physically, but also personally, the participants surpass themselves during the cycle tour. Team spirit, stamina, organisational talent - all of this characterises the tour. For many, the days become an unforgettable experience with a lasting impression.
Next year, the tour will once again be cycling for a good cause. Planning for the 23rd edition of ‘ESB Cycling for Charity’ is already underway.
