Get a taste of campus life at the Open Day 2026

9 May could hardly have been better: glorious sunshine, a bustling campus and hundreds of curious visitors who transformed Reutlingen University into a real hub of activity that Saturday. The ESB Business School also opened its doors – and those who came were in no hurry to leave.
Anyone looking for information about studying at ESB could visit the ESB stands, where current students, lecturers and staff were on hand to answer all their questions about the Bachelor’s, Master’s and MBA programmes. But what makes studying at ESB special beyond the timetable? This was precisely what ESB students addressed in their own presentation on student life and the ESB spirit. Student initiatives such as the ESB Case Club, Student Consulting, the Investment Club, ESB Cycling for Charity and many others ensure that there really is a place for everyone here. Joint outings, unforgettable parties and strong academic and career prospects do the rest.
Anyone keen to find out what is actually taught at ESB got a real taste of it in the taster lectures: together with parents and friends, prospective students delved into topics such as Germany’s economic role in Africa or the question of what ‘futures thinking’ means – and thus gained a concrete sense of how ideas are explored and discussed at ESB.
Anyone needing a break was more than well catered for: various bands set the mood, the Knowledge Café was a great place to linger, and the cake buffet organised by the student-run ESB Charity Department was a popular choice for a bite to eat. Those who preferred to get active sooner or later found themselves at the cornhole, the classic American throwing game, which became a relaxed meeting place for everyone.
University President Prof. Dr. Sabine Löbbe summed up what many must have felt on the day: “The Open Day is a wonderful opportunity for our university every year to engage with people and bring the diversity of our institution to life. I am delighted to see the enthusiasm with which our students and staff organise this day and the great interest shown by visitors. My heartfelt thanks go to all members of the university community who made this special day possible.”
Missed the event? No problem.
