Reutlingen welcomes more than 150 students

Town hall reception for ESB Business School's double degree programme strengthens ties between university and regional economy

Students at ESB Business School are welcomed by Roland Wintzen, Reutlingen's Mayor for Finance and Economic Affairs

At the start of the semester, the city of Reutlingen welcomed students from ESB Business School's Bachelor's programme in International Management – Double Degree to the town hall. This year's cohort comprises up to 150 young people from Germany and more than a dozen other countries.

During the traditional reception, Roland Wintzen, the Mayor of Finance and Economic Affairs, welcomed everyone and emphasised the close collaboration between the city and the university, as well as the appealing job opportunities in the region.

“Studying here is an excellent choice. Students in Reutlingen benefit from strong links to the regional economy, from well-established companies to young start-ups,” said Mayor Wintzen. “Reutlingen offers you not only an attractive place to study, but also very good opportunities for after graduation.”

Students come from Germany and partner countries such as Spain, Ireland, France, Great Britain, the USA, Canada, China, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands and Poland.

Before the reception, the students walked with professors from the ESB Business School — including Prof. Dr. Jörg Naeve (Dean of Studies) and Prof. Dr. Stephan Höfer (Designated Dean of Studies IMX) — from the university campus through the pomological gardens in Reutlingen to the town hall. The walk took about 40 minutes. This walk gave the students the opportunity toget to know Reutlingen and the surrounding area.

The double degree programme involves studying abroad at partner universities alongside studying at Reutlingen University. This opens up excellent career opportunities for graduates in Germany and abroad.
