The City
Grimstad is an idyllic town with small, white wooden houses, narrow cobbled streets, tiny cafés and bakeries scattered around the town centre. Grimstad has 25,000 inhabitants. Kristiansand is a fast growing, modern town and is the largest urban area in Southern Norway. It is the regional capital of business, administration and culture, and has close to 110,000 inhabitants.
The University
The University of Agder is a government-owned university, headed by an elected Rector and an appointed University Director. It has six faculties and one teacher unit governed as a whole by the University Board, which consists of a majority of members elected by faculty, staff and students and a minority of external members appointed by the Ministry of Education and Research. UiA has two campuses. In Kristiansand is Faculty of Health and Sports, Faculty of Humanities and Education, Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Business and Law and Teaching Education Unit. In Grimstad is Faculty of Engineering and Science.
