Application

IMPORTANT NOTE: DUE TO THE CURRENT CORONA CRISIS, THE APPLICATION PERIOD FOR THE WINTER SEMESTER 20/21 HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

It is currently not clear how the new dates for the application and coordination phases of hochschulstart.de will be set. As soon as this becomes apparent, we will publish it on the Reutlingen University homepage.

The changed dates and the fact that currently no courses may be held on campus also have an impact on the selection process for the Bachelor programme International Management Double Degree (IMX). You will find details on the changed entrance examination under point 3.

In the country links England, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland and Spain, it is normally intended that some of students start their studies directly at the partner university abroad. Due to the current situation with the Corona pandemic, various questions arise regarding dates and travel restrictions for the start abroad. There- fore we would like to point out at this time that we check very carefully whether a start can take place at the partner university. Our first priority is to make sure that students in our IMX programmes are not disadvantaged by a later start of their studies or problems with entering the country or finding accommodation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

You would like to apply for one of the  bachelor programmes International Management Double Degree (IMX)? These steps are necessary for the application and admission process.

In general:

  • You can apply for up to three degree programmes at Reutlingen University at the same time – i.e. you can also apply for three different IMX degree programmes (e.g. German-American, German-Irish, German-English).
  • Make sure to prioritise your applications for IMX in the University Start Portal and set your desired IMX degree programme at ESB Business School at number 1.

1.Read the entrance requirements for the IMX study programmes carefully

Entrance requirements

  • General or subject-related university entrance qualification (Abitur/A levels; the Fachhochschulreife, entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, is not sufficient), or an equivalent university entrance qualification
  • Foreign language skills in the languages relevant to the degree programme, i.e. the national language of the respective target country. Exceptions: Netherlands (English), Mexico (English and Spanish), China (possible with and without Chinese language skills; orientation talk about language acquisition), Brazil (Portuguese or very good Spanish language skills and English)
  • Successfully completed entrance examination (subject-related written test, interview and oral language tests) à For the application for the winter semester 20/21, the entrance examination is replaced by an oral language test via video conferencing software. You will find details of the changed entrance examination under point 3.
  • Foreign applicants with a university entrance qualification acquired abroad must submit their certificate to the Studienkolleg Konstanz for examination and recognition. With the application deadline, you must also provide proof of sufficient German language skills.
You will find more detailed information in the Questions & Answers section of the application for international applicants on the Reutlingen University website.
  • Admission offers are made on the basis of a ranking list. The average grade of the university entrance qualification (Abitur/A level) is decisive for the allocation of study places in one of the bachelor degree programmes in International Management. If, at the time of application, there is proof of completed commercial vocational training, the average grade of the university entrance qualification will be improved by 0.2.

We would like to point out that a very good to good Abitur/A level grade is very important for an admissions offer as our study places are in high demand and attract correspondingly good applicants.

2.Follow the steps on the Reutlingen University application portal

The application must be received online by the application deadline. Please follow the steps on the online application portal of Hochschule Reutlingen.

You must upload the following documents in the online application:

  • Language certificates (see point 3 for details)
  • Where applicable: Proof of completed commercial vocational training (proof of completed vocational training (IHK/Chamber of Commerce certificate) must also be submitted by email to the university admissions office (info.zulassung@dont-want-spam.reutlingen-university.de) by the applications deadline
  • Curriculum vitae (with picture if possible) and relevant proof of e.g. stays abroad, training and internships, voluntary service (Bufdi, FSJ), special commitment to voluntary work

3.On invitation, take the admission exam
