Time to celebrate for IPBS!

Spring meeting of the International Partnership of Business Schools marks its 50th anniversary

Prof. Christoph Binder, Prof. Jörg Naeve & Julie Dengler of the ESB Business School took part in the Spring 2024 meetings of the International Partnership of Business Schools - IPBS Network. The meetings took place at NC State Poole College of Management in North Carolina, U.S.A. and this included the Kick-Off celebration of the 50th Anniversary of this great consortium.

The 1st part of this year-long IPBS 50th Anniversary celebration honored the six schools in the Americas, one of whom first joined 30 years ago. Two individuals were also honored for their commitment including Robin Cohen for her ongoing engagement of International Partnership of Business Schools - IPBS Network over the last 30 years by attending over 75 meetings and Ira Weiss for his vision and commitment to global business education who as Dean, led the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University to become the first school in the Americas to join 30 years ago and then as Dean at NC State Poole College of Management fostered are membership 15 years ago.

The meetings also included looking into the trends impacting global business and how they will impact the future of international business education with a Thought Leadership Panel featuring Mark Beasley and Luca David Opromolla.  Topics included AI and its impact on global business education with Vikas Anand. The main point of these meetings are to further develop our strong partnerships to ensure the International Partnership of Business Schools - IPBS Network continues to grow and expand as we work to teach future global business leaders across our 12 campuses.

From September 24 – 27th, 2024 the IPBS 50th Anniversary celebration will continue during the Fall IPBS Meetings which will take place in Reutlingen. Members of all of the IPBS partner schools & special guests will be in attendance again for a continuous reflection on the past 50 years of partnerships which will also include honoring our European partners who have built the solid base of these fruitful partnerships.  

11 partner business schools including FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil), UDLAP (Mexico), D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University (USA), Elon University - Martha and Spencer Love School of Business (USA), Brock University (Canada), DCU Business School (Ireland), Lancaster University Management School (UK), NEOMA Business School (France), Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Spain), and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore were represented at the meetings.
