In the CYCLOMETRIC project, a decision-support system is being designed and tested on an intrerdsciplinary basis. Product developers are thus supported in the development of lifecycle-oriented components.

Results and application potential

The system model represents a modular, holistic analysis and software basis for further activities in the field of the "circular economy". Due to the abstraction of the basic model, the support tool and its analyses modules and evaluation logic, it can also be transferred to actors outside the automotive industry. Depending on how the project progresses, the underlying model will be published as open source for further dissemination.

Research approaches of advanced systems engineering (ASE) and the associated model-based systems engineering will also be used in the digitisation of product development. For this purpose, the researchers are developing a metamodel for a cycle-oriented description of the product architecture and a method for cycle-oriented engineering.
