Studying and researching internationally

In the Digital Industrial Management and Engineering degree programme you work independently on current research topics and supplement your knowledge in lectures and seminars.

Structure and content

In the Digital Industrial Management and Engineering study programme, you will deal, among other things, with the following questions:

  • How do I deal with scientific problems of applied research in depth and develop suitable solutions for them?
  • How do I integrate existing solutions and findings into my research work?
  • How do I query and represent the research results?
  • How do I take responsibility for research and development projects and the results obtained?
  • How do I process and present complex research topics in an understandable way, also for non-experts?
  • What competencies and skills do I need to work in a culturally diverse environment?
  • How do I successfully apply my interdisciplinary research-oriented competencies and skills at the interface between research and development and in product realisation in an international working environment?

Of the four semesters of your Master of Science Digital Industrial Management and Engineering degree programme, you will complete three at ESB in Reutlingen. You are required to complete the second semester abroad at one of our partner universities: if you choose module 3A, at Stellenbosch University in South Africa; if you choose module 3B, at Purdue University in the USA. After the introductory phase, the lectures and research projects are conducted in parallel.
