Truly international

International week at ESB Business School

By Alfred Max

With around 250 participants from all over the world, the first International Week of ESB Business School (ESB) showed how wide-ranging the School’s international activities are. With over 40 ‘hybrid’ and ‘on-campus’ events, including lectures, workshops and leisure activities, the week was full to the brim.

“For the students of Reutlingen University and the partner universities, as well as staff, professors and alumni there was a lot on offer”, said Joanne Corlett and Elizaveta Renz from ESB’s International Affairs Department. Whether it was a sports event, the language café of the Institute for Foreign Languages, welcoming visiting students, professors and lecturers from Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America, workshops for staff from the partner universities and ESB, BIPs, guest lectures, alumni talks, international meal or parties – the focus was on getting to know each other, having fun, getting information about studying at ESB Business School and international cooperation.
The workshops in which companies were represented alongside the partner universities showed clearly how important it is today for students to be well prepared for global cooperation – including the use of digital communication and software tools. This is the case at ESB.

Conclusion by Professor Dr. Andreas Taschner: "The International Week 2023 was a lot of work for everyone involved – student initiatives, staff, professors and the RIO – but it was definitely worth it. The ESB showed that we are truly international. We are already looking forward to the next one!"

By the way: On 13 May it will be Open Day at Reutlingen University and therefore also at ESB Business School: Pupils & parents as well as people in employment who want to continue their education and are interested in business and/or ‘becoming an engineer’ can find out here on the campus how studying at ESB Business School works.
